Sand shovels, spades, earth-moving shovels and snow shovels
Shovels and spades are the basic tools for moving soil, sand and snow. Landscapers, groundworkers and technical services use them for digging, construction and maintenance, and in winter to clear paths and sites.
Choose by the job. A round spade cuts into firm ground; a sand shovel scoops loose material such as sand and gravel. An earth-moving shovel with a large square blade moves a lot of volume in one go, a garden shovel is meant for planting. For snow there are snow shovels, including models in the Gardena Combisystem. Then look at the shaft and the grip: a T handle gives more control when cutting in, a two-component handle more comfort. Some shovels come without a handle, so you choose your own or replace a broken one; others have a gooseneck. For work in areas with an explosion risk there is a non-sparking spade in aluminium bronze.
The shovels come from Gardena, Bahco and Xhander. To loosen the ground or look after plantings, the full garden tools range is grouped in the parent category.
